The last time President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her ousted predecessor Joseph Estrada were together in one frame was back in 2001, after he was arrested for plunder. Both presidents and their allies have been hurling brickbats at each other ever since.
But weddings have their ways of reuniting the most bitter of enemies, and for the first time since 2001, Erap and PGMA cross paths at the wedding of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia’s daughter. Surely, it makes a good photo-op and story. But could it be a first step towards national unity. In the land of politics as usual, I don’t think so.
What do you think?
