A Million Thanks (update)

Well, here is my first video — isang simpleng pasasalamat sa napakaraming kaibigan at kabalitaan na nakinig, tumulong at sumuporta nitong mga nakalipas na taon.  I edited it myself.  I realize though na medyo ma-drama ata ito.  Pagpasensyahan niyo na at pagbigyan niyo na ako dahil minsan lang naman ako mag-drama.  Hahaha.

The video aside, and because I have all the space — I wish to publicly thank quite a number of people for all the words of wisdom, and for keeping me company at my own crossroads (I hope I don’t forget anyone.  Marami kasi talaga kayo):

Kata Inocencio, former teacher and good friend — for the prayers and countless words of wisdom…

Nadia Trinidad and Dax Lucas, Naomi Dayrit, Maila Ager, Tita Valderama, Alex Tinsay…

Mich Cruz, Sherryl Yao, Hannah Alcoseba, JP Soriano, Francis Respicio…

Miguel Lim, Fr. Mike Millan, Fr. Mon Bernal…

Jiggy Manicad, Marnie Pulumbarit…

Lia Manalac, Paolo Capino…

Vlad Romero, Keyt dela Cruz, Tere Katipunan

Xandrix Manalili, Jhing Abalos, Acee Tan…

Edgie Villegas, Dennis David

Many other friends from the Newsroom, the House Representatives and Malacanang Press Corps…

Tito Joy, Amanda

My family

Thanks, thanks… from the bottom of my heart.  Hope to keep in touch. May God bless you all a hundredfold.

  2. hey there. surprised to find out that you’d ditched the correspondent gig, but then i haven’t been watching TV since August 2007, and that includes the news.

happy to hear you’re moving to another venture in your life. at some point i hope our paths will cross again.

i wish you all the best.

    ~”first lady” XD

  3. naiyak naman ako dun my friend 🙂 i wish you all the best in this new chapter in your life. all our prayers to you. kapit lang sa Itaas, and everything will be ok. you know jigs and i are always here for you. nagsimula lang ang ating pagkakaibigan sa isang pencil, but now malayo na ang ating narating. huggggs to you my friend!!!!!

  4. Ralphy, this video touched my heart in more ways than you can imagine. You know how much I value your friendship. And no matter what other people say, we’ll be friends till we’re old and gray. =) Miss you!

  5. Ralph,
i was one of the last to know that your vacation leave last december ended up as a terminal leave. I may not have known you long enough and close enough but your presence at the press working area will be missed. It is with some degree of sadness that I received this news.
At the same time, I am also proud and happy to have known you, working alongside one of the few good journalists that side of the fence. i am also happy for you since youve shown that there is life after TV work and that there is a place for each and everyone who decides there is a better time, place and lfe for all of us. Godspeed ralph and ill see you around.

  6. Ma-drama nga, Ralph. Well. walang kwenta naman ang buhay kung walang drama. Hahahaha. I’ll always remember our Christmas dinner with Nadz, Nao and Mai. At siempre pa, ang mga kalookohan na ginawa mo when you were assigned at the House of Representatives. Palagay ko, may hindi magandang influence ka na nakuha dun. Pero hinde, the other side of you is a prankster. Itanong mo kay Mai, hahahaha. ‘Yung isang subject mo nga palagi ko nakakasalubong, at palagi rin kita naaalala whenever I see that person (o hindi ko sinabi kung guy or gal ha).

Anyway, good luck and may you be blessed more!

  7. i just got your email. ill send a private reply there. alam mo i was in baguio with Mumsy when i heard from dodong that your vacation leave became a terminal leave. I was suprised that it came so soon but at the same time i wasnt suprised t happend at all. this professsion, this industry and its offices—all tend to suck the best and brightest of each individual and if you dont manage it well, youll be left an empty shell. truth be told—im also on a self assessment phase–gave myself a year starting last august to decide whether i want to do this forever or move on. i laud you for the courage you have to move on and decide for yourself what you want in life. few people in this planet know while others just cruise along like drones.

  8. One of the best things that happened to me in gma is the chance to be one of Ralph’s friends, I will surely miss our food trips, the kwentuhan while drinking coffee may it be in our canteen or starbucks…I am confident that the choices you made will lead you to greater things…God bless!

  9. ralph,
i didn’t see this until now. i saw all your coverages and all the experiences you had, covering the news and meeting all these people. i used to think that being in the news was a waste of time, thinking of how badly paid we were and everything we had to go through, all the sacrifices despite the pay and non-existent insurance etc etc.. but watching your video made me realize once again how lucky we were to have experienced what we experienced and met the people we met, not many people have the chance we had to touch lives and be touched by other people as well. it was great, ralph, don’t you think? and i am so proud of you and all you have achieved. you are just too brilliant. you will shine anywhere, you won’t even have to try. and what you said was true, every field we get into has its own set of challenges. i am so glad we are still friends despite the distance and beyond news reporting. we were very idealistic and we know we did our best. you made me sentimental! besos from over this side of the world, hannah

  10. Thanks so much, Hannah! Miss you my friend! Your friendship has always been an inspiration, and if there’s one great thing i miss about our past job it’s friends like you. Really so blessed. 🙂
